Poker (revisited)
Poker night again last night. Pretty much like usual. I won a few hands to start and then watched my chip stack dwindle. Came down to a point where I was getting desparate. I had all my original $25 chips, but was short stacked. So kinda had to make my move, and wanted to steal a few blinds. I risked it 2 or 3 times and went all in pre-flop. Luckily no one had cards to play.
Then I got an Ace 3. Not a great hand. But I was in the blinds so saw the flop pretty cheaply. The board paired. I think we checked and saw the turn. The board got two pairs. So two pairs and my ace kicker. I was pretty sure that would hold up. Especially since no one (Doug) had raised on the flop. Then Doug went all in. I was pretty certain he didn't have the full house. Worst case, he had an ace and we'd split.
I called.
He asked to see my ace, so I showed him. He showed me a King. My heart started to beat faster. I might actually double up here and pretty much wipe him out.
Now his only saving card would be to split the pot with a full house, or the unlikely King.
Guess what the river was?
